Ferrari California T Convertible Top Flap Reverse Engineering

his project focuses on the reverse engineering of a small plastic component from a Ferrari California T, specifically the convertible top flap. The original part was digitised using high-accuracy 3D scanning to capture its geometry and surface condition. The scan data was then processed and reconstructed into a clean, parametric CAD model, suitable for restoration and manufacturing. Particular attention was given to dimensional accuracy, surface continuity, and functional fit within the convertible roof mechanism. This workflow demonstrates how 3D scanning and CAD reverse engineering can be effectively used to restore damaged or unavailable automotive components, ensuring reliable reproduction and integration.
