British Helmet Brass Plate. High-Detail 3D Scanning & engraving

This project showcases the high-resolution 3D scanning of a British helmet brass plate, featuring intricate engraving and fine surface details. The component includes delicate geometries with a minimum thickness of approximately 0.65 mm, requiring precise data acquisition.Using a structured light 3D scanner with a small field of view (150 mm FOV), the part was captured with high accuracy, preserving even the smallest engraved features. The resulting mesh was processed into a clean, watertight STL file, ready for applications such as 3D printing, digital archiving, or reproduction. This example highlights the capability of advanced 3D scanning technologies to capture fine details on thin and complex components, making it ideal for heritage, engraving, and precision manufacturing applications.
