One of the main advantages of 3D photogrammetry is its ability to capture highly realistic colour textures, offering more lifelike results than traditional 3D laser scanning. It allows the creation of accurate, detailed 3D models with excellent resolution. Photogrammetry is versatile, capable of digitising objects of all sizes – from small items of just 10mm to large structures over 100 metres – making it ideal for artists, sculptors, and heritage professionals.

Our 3D photogrammetry process uses metrology-certified scale bars to ensure objects are captured at the correct scale. This delivers precise dimensional accuracy, typically around ≤0.15 mm over 4.5 metres or ≤0.020 mm per metre, making it ideal for detailed artworks, sculptures, and heritage objects.

3D photogrammetry can often be performed even on sunny days, but ideal conditions are overcast skies with minimal wind. Transparent or translucent objects, such as glass, can be more challenging to capture accurately due to alignment difficulties. By considering these factors, highly detailed and precise 3D models can be achieved for artworks, sculptures, and heritage objects.
